Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in the USA on Monday, 25th-June-2012. Uhrichsville to Washington (not that Washington!). 81 miles. It’s felt a little cooler today. The temperature is still in the late seventies. But the wind has switched around and is blowing from the North now.
I’m not sure if I’ve hit the Appalachian mountains or just the border between West Virginia and Pennsylvania, but it’s been rather hilly today.
Random fact! I came through a town called Cadiz today. Apparently, it’s the birthplace of Clark Gable! There was a museum about him and also a coal museum!

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.
