Marin Palisades Trail

Marin Palisades Trail
Garry’s old Marin Palisades Trail

Garry’s original bike that he first started cycle touring on was a Marin Palisades Trail mountain bike which he brought in 1992.

In 2002 when Garry gave up smoking, he started cycling as a way of keeping his mind off the cigarettes! Garry was always a keen cyclist, but now after giving up the cigarettes, he was cycling a lot more.

After giving up smoking for a month, Garry added the racks and some panniers making it more of a hybrid bike!

After making his Marin into more of a hybrid bike, Garry went on his first long-distance cycle ride! An 80-mile bike ride along the coast to Dorset! And the rest, as they say, is history!

Although Garry doesn’t use the Marin for touring anymore, Garry still rides it every day.
