Narrow street with castle at the end

Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 30th January 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 13th-February-2024. Garry leaves the campsite in Canterbury and heads into the city centre for a spot of sightseeing, which doesn’t take long. And Garry is soon on the road heading through the Kent countryside.

Garry heads off on a few detours today, taking in some of the pretty villages along his route. Although he likes detouring into the villages, he’s not so keen when it involves cycling up another hill. It’s another tough day’s ride, and Garry arrives at his overnight stop just before it gets dark.

Statue of a lady with her arms in the air

Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 29th January 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 12th-February-2024. It’s another day, and after cycling through London yesterday, he’s now heading back. Although not the same way he came, Garry is heading east to Kent today.

Garry starts the day following a familiar route, but it doesn’t take long before he finds himself cycling on roads he’s never cycled. He also ends up on the Woolwich ferry, which is another first. After crossing the Thames on the Woolwich ferry, Garry’s ride seems harder and hillier. But despite the hard ride, Garry still decides to extend his day and head for a different campsite.

Travelsonabike2 YouTube Video 11th-February-2024

A castle at the end of a path

Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 28th January 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 11th-February-2024. Garry leaves his overnight stop in Chertsey and heads for central London. It’s a Sunday morning, and much to Garry’s annoyance, the “mamil’s” are out in force. (stand by for Garry’s usual rant)

Garry’s route into London takes him along the River Thames, where he passes Hampton Court Palace. But the calm of the River Thames doesn’t last long, and he soon finds himself cycling next to busy roads. Once in central London, Garry gets confused (nothing new) as to where he is and even the buildings he’s looking at.

Coming out of London is frustrating for Garry after the App on his phone takes him here, there and everywhere. But as usual, it’s all down to operator error. Things aren’t made any easier because of Garry’s affliction to going up hills.

Sunrise through trees reflecting on a pond

Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 27th January 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 10th-February-2024. It’s an early start as Garry sets off on another tour. And maybe he should invest in some lights; Garry’s hard to spot in the early morning hours before the sun rises.

This time, Garry’s off to Chertsey, and there are plenty of hills on the way. But Garry isn’t too bothered for once, as much of his route today is on roads he’s never cycled. Or not that he remembers.
