Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France Tuesday, 2nd-May-2023. Rochefort-en-Terre to Le Moteno Plouhinec. 61 miles. A damp start to the day, as are so many in France. I don’t know why but nearly every morning starts with a mist. It doesn’t last long, though. The sun soon comes up and burns it off.
Mind you. It was exceptionally damp this morning. My clothes that I’d left out to dry after washing them last night were wetter this morning than when I’d hung them out. It wasn’t very pleasant putting them on soaking wet, and I wonder why I’ve got arthritis!
Not much to say about today’s ride. It was a combination of roads and cycle paths. Although I did have one problem, the ferry that I was going to catch from Port d’Etel to Le Magouer wasn’t running. Apparently, they didn’t have a captain. It wasn’t a major problem and only caused me a detour of a few miles to cycle upstream and use the bridge.
I hadn’t intended on stopping where I am tonight. I’d stopped up the road for a drink and decided to look and see what campsites were up ahead. There wasn’t any, not for a long way. So seeing as this campsite was only three miles down the road, albeit in the wrong direction. I decided to stop. I didn’t fancy another long day today. I’m getting old now!
