Cycle Touring France 3rd-May-2023

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France Wednesday, 3rd-May-2023. Le Moteno Plouhinec to Quimper. 59 miles. It’s been a long day, or rather it’s felt like it. I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night. For some reason, I got the idea in my head that I didn’t have enough time to complete my ride around Brittany.

Usually, when I go away on tour, I don’t have to worry about getting home, or if I do, I usually have plenty of time. But due to my passports not turning up, I’m a bit up against it. (I’ve got to be home on Tuesday the 9th for an induction test. I think they send a small current of electricity at one point on my body and see if it comes out at the other end, just like trying to find a broken wire in your home.)

I should have checked in the night rather than just laying awake wondering. But I didn’t. I did, however, check first thing this morning, and I should be okay, even at my current pace of sixty miles a day.

To make sure I’ve got a place on the ferry, I booked that tonight. It’s not as if there are plenty of ferries from Saint-Malo. There’s only one a day, and I didn’t want to miss out. Haha, and that didn’t go according to plan. For some reason, I gave them the wrong email address! I tried phoning as soon as I realised, but they were closed; I’ll have to try again tomorrow. Time for bed, I think, before anything else goes wrong.
