Cycle Touring France 7th-May-2023

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France Sunday, 7th-May-2023. Saint-Malo to Portsmouth by ferry, then cycling from Portsmouth to Bognor Regis. 31 miles. As you can see, I changed my ferry and came home today instead of tomorrow. And judging by the weather this morning, just in time. There was a definite chill in the air.

After getting on the ferry this morning, I’m not surprised I was able to change my ticket; it was dead. There were only a handful of passengers; I’d never known a ferry so quiet. I’m not so sure I want to do the crossing from Saint-Malo to Portsmouth again. It seemed such a waste of a day, and there’s not exactly a lot to do on board either.

Well, I’m home now for at least a month; I seem to have a different hospital appointment every week, and sometimes two in a week.

It’s been an enjoyable week away, despite the weather being a bit wet. And if I’ve learned one thing on this trip. It’s that not all campsites open in May. Total miles cycled this week 491.
