Friday 11th May 2012 at the Steve Urwin Zoo

Went to the Steve Irwin zoo today and had a really good day.

At midday we went to the Crocoseum to watch the wildlife warrior show which was a mixture of snakes, birds and crocodiles. The birds, parrots and condor fly around the arena just above your head and they had condors and several other big birds. The first crocodile that comes out into the water, that’s in the arena is just a baby one about 2ft long, the next one, a bit later is a big 10ft croc, that get him to move around the water by stamping their feet and splashing in the water, they also get him to leap out of the water and take some food from the keeper who’s on a platform above the water.

You can get really close to the animals, held a koala, feed the kangaroos and also sat with them, fed the elephants, stroked a snake, saw wombats, red pandas, which were very cute, tigers, emus, loads of different crocodiles and plenty of other animals.

All in all a day that was enjoyed by all!
