June-2021 Bicycle-Ride Video Episode-7

June-2021 bicycle-ride video episode-7, Brighstone, Isle of Wight to Bognor Regis, it’s a wet start to the day, with the rain pouring down outside. But surprise amongst surprise, Garry’s tents not leaking! And he’s woken up in a better mood than he was yesterday afternoon! After receiving the news that he was going into hospital to have his hip operation! And that any cycling was probably over for much of the summer!

Expecting it to be a wet ride home, Garry’s surprised that no sooner has he set off from camp in the rain than it stops! It’s a pleasant ride across the island now the rain has stopped, and Garry soon reaches Newport, where he arranges to meet up with Malcolm, his old mate, who he met on the ferry to Saint-Malo in 2015. After lunch with Malcolm, Garry sets off home, going the long way via the Red Squirrel trail. Which towards the end is closed, forcing Garry on a detour up and over some hills. But it’s all okay as he stops to talk to a herd of cows grazing in a field! Garry will always stop and talk to any animal! He finds they are more on his level!

Garry continues to bimble around the Isle Wight and ends up in St Helens. Seaview is quick to follow, which in normal years is the destination for a boys day out—sailing from Chichester Harbour. I digress as Seaview blends into Ryde, where It’s a fast ride to the end of Ryde pier, where Garry will catch the Fastcat to Portsmouth. From Portsmouth, it’s Garry’s regular boring route home, with nothing happening.

More to the point is that seeping wound. I hate to think they’re going to open it up again.
