China, Cycling The World 19th-November-2012

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is in China, cycling around the world on Monday, 19th-November-2012. In Beijing. I decided that I would change hotels in the end. Staying in a Novatel hotel now, which is a bit nearer the centre. After checking in, I went in search of the various bits I needed to pack my bike away, which were all found fairly quickly and near to the hotel.

I managed to fall off my bike when I was carrying the box. No harm done. It was just embarrassing in front of a crowd of people waiting at a bus stop! But at least they helped me up.

Went to go sightseeing on my bike after sourcing all my bits, but got bored with that. The places I went to see were not accessible by bike, so I gave up for the day and found the hotel bar!!

Please Donate

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.

You can also follow my progress and see where I stop each night by visiting the Where’s Garry web page; there, you’ll find a map of the route I’ve taken so far.
