England March 2018

After what had seemed a long and cold winter it was now time for Garry to go away on his first bicycle ride of the year.

Garry had tried to get away a few weeks earlier but the weather turned, and there was a surprise cold snap, which brought heavy snow! Not ideal cycling weather!

It was never going to be a long tour due to Garry needing a new hip and his sciatica which is severely affecting his cycling capabilities! But Garry was determined to get away!

Garry’s main reason for going away was to visit some of his favourite campsites that had just opened for the season.

The first campsite on Garry’s tour was Grange Farm Brighstone on the Isle of Wight. After spending the night on the Isle of Wight, it was a short ride to Garry’s next stop, Hollands Wood in the New Forest.

Again only stopping the one night Garry then headed north to Greywell, Hampshire and the Fox and Goose pub. The pub allows you to camp for free as long as you use the pub! What more could you want!

It turned out that Garry was very good and wasn’t in the pub all night!

The next morning Garry decided to go and visit some friends in London. After a brief visit, Garry then decided to get the train home.
