Bicycle Touring to Australia: Indonesia, Tanggamus To Bandar Lampung
My latest bicycle touring to Australia update: cycling through Indonesia, Tanggamus to Bandar Lampung 59 miles. I was feeling a lot happier today. Maybe I’d overdone it over the last couple of days and was a bit run down! I’m still not happy about the sponsorship, though. I’m sure everybody can afford at least one pound!
Sitting, eating breakfast this morning, I was watching the school run. There are no mums in their expensive 4x4s. Here it’s all scooters. I even saw one scooter with one adult and four children on it!
I’ve still had plenty of hills today, but at least they haven’t been vertical, and I could ride up them! Going up these hills, I sweat so much. It always looks like I’ve wet myself! I’ve definitely got the wrong colour shorts.
Short ride today. After the last two long days, I thought it might do me some good to stop early. I was also a little worried about finding another hotel. And knowing Bandar Lampung was a big city, I wanted to get a hotel with internet access. I’m still having problems with my phone and need to talk to Vodafone. Some chance of that! I might even stop for two nights. I’m not too sure yet.
Why
I really wonder why I bother staying in these wannabe posh hotels! Oh yeah, the internet! But apart from that, there’s no other reason. The bar ran out of beer tonight. I should get a refund on my room for that! Despite running out of beer, I had quite an enjoyable evening watching Liverpool v Arsenal on the TV with the hotel staff.
