Bike-Ride to Australia 4th-February-2012

Bike-Ride to Australia Saturday 4th-February-2012 Pran Buri to Ban Huai Kriap. 106 miles. The weather forecast for today was for thundery showers, but thankfully I managed to avoid them. Baring in mind how quickly the roads dry out here, I must have been following in their wake. A lot of time, I was cycling on wet roads. The steam coming off the ground was incredible. It made it a very humid day.

There are palm trees everywhere

I managed to pick up another puncture today. And what a nightmare that was! I didn’t realise just how much I was sweating until I stopped. It was like turning a tap on. The sweat was pouring off me! Trying to apply glue to my innertube with sweat pouring out of me was hard going. I was glad to get back on the bike to cool down, or at least have the wind dry my sweat.

I’m still struggling to find hotels unless I want to stay in a 5-star resort! That’s why I’ve ended up at the motorway services tonight. I’m not actually staying in a hotel tonight. It’s just a place where people can rest for an hour or two and get a shower. But the very kind owner has let me stop for the night. He told me that he also runs a guesthouse about 2km back, which I must have just ridden past! I told you I was struggling to spot places to stay!
