Bike-Ride To Australia 11th-December 2011 Igatpuri to Dhule 118 miles. There was a bit of a chill in the air this morning, which was very pleasant. It didn’t last, and before long, it was swelteringly hot again!
Dogs don’t seem to be a problem here, despite the hoards roaming around. They just sit there and watch me go by! I think the dogs find it too hot and just can’t be bothered to chase!
I seem to attract a lot of attention, whether I’m cycling or I’ve stopped! When I’m riding motorbikes and cars, slow right down and come alongside for a chat. Sort of! Half the time, they don’t understand me and vice versa. I certainly don’t understand them! I just tell them where I’m from, where I’m going and my name. That’s about the only part they get, my name. They always say goodbye, Gally! It’s always entertaining but gets tiring having to tell the same story each time. I did wonder about just saying anything! But knowing my luck, I’d pick the one time when they spoke fluent English!
Breaks Are A Worry
Then whenever I stop, I always draw a big crowd, which does get a bit worrying at times! People are fascinated by me and my bike. Often when I’ve stopped, I can’t even see my bike from the crowds of people gathered around it! I’m not too sure what they’re so intrigued about. It certainly can’t be the amount of luggage I carry. You should see what some of the things they carry, and the amount! I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the trucks don’t just topple over!
I started to get a bit of a complex tonight when every hotel I tried said they were full! Hence today’s mileage!
