Bike-Ride to Australia-and-Beyond 27th-May-2012

Garry McGivern’s bike-ride to Australia-and-beyond Sunday, 27th-May-2012 Nevada Utah border to Delta. 92 miles. A much easier ride today. The wind had dropped right off, and what wind there was, was behind me. I made good progress today and didn’t stop all day. Mainly due to there not being anywhere to stop! I don’t even recall seeing a bench anywhere, either.

Stunning scenery as usual

Every day on my ride across America, the scenery has been stunning, and today was no different. I’ve seen loads of chipmunks scurrying along in the scrub next to the road. And I’ve lost an hour today. I’m now on mountain time! And I’ve seen plenty of those today, mountains, that is.

Everywhere seemed to be closed in Delta tonight, apart from McDonald’s. So I had to have a Big Mac for supper, which unsurprisingly failed to fill me up. I ended up having to buy a couple of microwave meals from a garage, in a bid to fill myself up!

Please Donate

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.
