China, Cycling The World 15th-November-2012

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is in China, cycling around the world on Thursday, 15th-November-2012. Qingxi to Shouyang. 67 miles.

I thought the hotel was a bit odd last night. You had to take your shoes off in reception, leave them there and wear flip-flops. I also got a knock on the door from the manager asking if I wanted a girl for the night, which I obviously declined! However, this morning, when I went to check out, they wouldn’t take payment and just wanted to take photos!

Going over some mountain pass this afternoon, it started to snow, but as I came down, it turned to rain, making it a thoroughly miserable end to the day! I stopped at a reasonable time today, but after taking over an hour to check in and then having to change rooms, it was gone six o’clock! The rains now turned to snow, and it’s really quite heavy!

Please Donate

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.

Follow me on social media: Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest. I’m also on Flickr, where my photos are released first at the end of each country I’ve just cycled through.

You can also follow my progress and see where I stop each night by visiting the Where’s Garry web page; there, you’ll find a map of the route I’ve taken so far.
