Travelsonabike2 France Thursday 16th-May-2019

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France on Thursday, 16th-May-2019. Saint Lo D’Ourville to Barfleur. 52 miles. Another windy day, hopefully tomorrow though, if the wind stays in the same direction that is, it’ll be behind me! We’ll see!

Beach, rotting boat
I don’t think this boat will sail again!

Despite the wind making it hard going I am still enjoying it all! Long days with very little spare time, it’s all good, much better than sitting around at home!

Although I’m not enjoying putting on wet clothes in the morning, after they’ve been washed the night before!

Clothes on a line
Desperately trying to dry my clothes

I had a problem with my eyes puffing up again this morning! I think it must be the suncream that I’m using, although it’s the same one I’ve always used! But for some reason now, everytime I use it my eyes puff up! Strange, but then I am a bit strange!!

  1. I have done that route through Barfleur. The names of some of those villages are a real challenge. How do you cope. You’ve never let on how functional you are with French. You’ve got camping down to a fine art.
Out on the road, milies from anywhere and you have the misfortune to meet a CTC member. Tant Pis!

    1. It’s lovely all around there. Don’t ask me how I cope, I just do! The campings not quite down to a fine art, I struggle each night which way I want to face and it usually takes two or three attempts to get it right!
