Travelsonabike2 France Thursday 3rd-October-2019

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France on Thursday, 3rd-October-2019. Saint-Malo to Janze. 70 miles. I was off that ferry this morning in record time. They hadn’t even taken the chains off the lorries when they let me off!

I decided to leave the train and cycle in the end today. From what I could see on the internet, the earliest train that I could have got was late into this afternoon! And I didn’t fancy hanging around Saint-Malo all day. I wanted to get going!

I’ll probably regret that decision later, as I’m pushing it for time once again, but Mr Impatient can’t hang around!

Nice ride today, despite a strong headwind, and I found myself on the Canal d’Ille-et-Rance once again, the same route I took last month when I came here. Although I seem to have made better progress this time!

I’m hoping I’ll be back in Angers and on the Loire tomorrow.

  1. Wow! What a mileage – those lovely lock masters’ cottages. You’re a bad influence: I took a 5mg steroid tablet this morning. My bikes in a state out of the river. I’ve lubed the chain with olive oil he! he! I’m just going to look up ‘Where’s Garry’ You lucky dog.
