Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is bicycle touring in England on Friday, the 11th-October-2024. Charmouth to Moreton. 38 miles. Even though I’ve only done 38 miles, they were a hard 38 miles. And even though I say I stopped early, around threeish, it wasn’t that early. Apologies for the late update yesterday, but I didn’t have any signal.
Apart from it being a hard ride today, I wanted to stop early so I could dry my tent out. That’s the trouble with camping at this time of year: nothing gets a chance to dry. It’s so damp in the morning and soon gets damp again in the afternoon. Even stopping when I did things only just dried out.
Stupid App
I left the campsite this morning and followed the road that I should have come in on yesterday. I should never have been anywhere near Charmouth. Especially not the way I was taken. It was quite a hill I had to go over. And speaking of hills. There was another big climb (240 metres) today over Black Down up to the Hardy Monument, which took most of the morning. It was pretty steep in places. In fact, it was so steep coming down that my Google Maps timeline thought I’d been sking!
