Cycling England: Bognor Regis to Normans Bay
My latest bicycle touring update: cycling in England, Bognor Regis to Normans Bay. 62 miles. And there I was, saying the other week that I was in too much pain to go anywhere. Well, I must have lied. Because I’ve gone away again.
I didn’t actually lie. It’s just some days I feel okay. Especially if I’ve not been doing too much over the previous days. As is the case today. And I was feeling pretty good until I came down the hill from Beachy Head into Eastbourne. I think just sitting on the bike, being a passenger and not peddling is what hurts. Luckily, it was towards the end of the day. And I only had a few miles to go.
Where Are You Going
I won’t be going too far or be away for too long. I’ve got to be home by Saturday. But rather than go to my usual places, the IOW or the New Forest. I’ve headed east. That’s in anticipation of the wind changing direction later in the week, which will hopefully blow me back home. There’s no plan for this trip apart from getting to tonight’s campsite. Then tomorrow, I hope to reach Canterbury. After that, who knows?
It’s been a good ride despite all the hills and, at times, the busy roads. Instead of coming here directly as I have done in the past, I went on a little detour to Birling Gap and Beachy Head. It was quite hilly
