Travelsonabike2 England Saturday 15th-June-2024

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is bicycle touring in England on Saturday, the 15th-June-2024. Harwich to Great Shelford. 68 miles. What a day! I’m absolutely exhausted. I’ve had wind, rain, thunderstorms and hail. And I’ve not even mentioned the hills. But it’s been an enjoyable day, and I’ve got to where I wanted to.

Yesterday’s sailing from the Netherlands was okay. The time passed quickly as I got talking to another couple of cyclists. Who had cycled up from Nice. And we were also joined by another bloke who had just driven his camper van to the Pharo Islands.

Everyday Is A School Day

One of the cyclists, who was well into his bikes, even knew who built my bike! Kevin Sayles who is well-known in cycling circles for his quality frames. Well, thank you, Kevin. I’m certainly impressed with mine. It’s done me well. If I ever bump into you, I’ll buy you a pint.

If it’s not so windy tomorrow, I hope to head for Oxford. But if the weather’s bad, I’m staying put. I don’t think I could manage another day like today.
