Bicycle Touring England
Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is bicycle touring in England on Thursday, the 21st-November-2024. Newport to Devizes. 53 miles. That was a much easier ride today. Although it’s been rather cold. In fact, it’s been freezing. There’s been a bitter wind today.
Bit of a late start this morning; breakfast wasn’t until 6.30. But I was still on the road at just gone seven. As I said earlier, there’s been a bitterly cold wind, and going across the Severn Bridge, it was freezing. The wind was blowing a good one across there. I was just about warm enough in my body. But my feet and hands, I just couldn’t get them warm. I was glad when a hill came that I couldn’t cycle and I had to push. That warmed my feet up.

The Outlook Isn’t Very Good
It looks like we’re in for another spell of bad weather at the weekend. There’s heavy rain and strong winds forecast. Ideal cycling weather, not. I might have to change my plans again. Not that there is a plan, but I might have to rethink where I’m going to go. The weather has certainly been against me on this ride. But I suppose it is the middle of November.

We did the same during winter sunday training. Minus 5-10 C no winter cycling cloths at all! After 3 -5 km we just ran some hundreds meters.
It’s a good way to warm the extremities up.
