Cycling England: Brockenhurst to Bognor Regis
My latest bicycle touring update: cycling in England, Brockenhurst to Bognor Regis. 75 miles. How nice to wake up to the dawn chorus this morning. It’s one of the best reasons for camping. Although I say waking up. I didn’t sleep that well.
I didn’t sleep any less than I do at home, and probably slept more last night than usual. What with my hip and myelopathy, it’s not good. I used to sleep really well, but unfortunately, now I’m so uncomfortable. If I lie on my hip, that starts to hurt. If I lie on the other side, my arms go to sleep. And if I lie on my back, my legs go numb. So, I spend the whole night moving from one position to another.
Anyway, the ride home today was good. If not a little slow. It took me over four hours to reach Southampton, which usually only takes about an hour. I was using any excuse to stop and take a picture or record a video for YouTube. I wasn’t that much quicker on the rest of the ride and would stop at the drop of a hat. I eventually walked in my door nearly twelve hours after leaving camp.
