Travelsonabike2 Ireland This Day 19th-July-2019

This week’s Travelsonabike2 bicycle touring on this day post comes from Ireland on the 19th-July-2019. It’s my first major tour after recovering from the sepsis that had hospitalised me the previous year.

Friday 19th July 2019. Ennis to Salthill. 46 Miles.

After watching the rain lash down this morning, I tried to stay at the hotel for another night. But they were fully booked, partly because of a music festival in the town, plus they had a wedding in the hotel today. Dam inconsiderate if you ask me.

This may have been my first-pint last night, as all the other photos I took in the evening were blurred!

I had a good night in the pub that’s attached to the hotel last night, with plenty of the black stuff consumed. And as part of the music festival, there was an Irish band playing in the bar. Which, along with the Guinness, made for a lively evening!

It’s been wet nearly all day, and by lunchtime, I’d had enough and found a campsite. Ironically, the sun came out as soon as I’d stopped! Hopefully, the weather will be better tomorrow.
