Travelsonabike2 Thursday 22nd-June-2023

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in the UK Thursday, 22nd-June-2023. Langton Matravers to Brockenhurst, yes, you read right, Brockenhurst. 48 miles. I told you I would start coming back regularly. Although I must admit, I wasn’t thinking quite as soon.
I was heading for the Isle of Wight today. But to be honest, my neck has been causing me so much discomfort today I couldn’t face all the hills on the island. So I took the easy option and came back to the New Forest. I’ll go over to the island tomorrow.

Taking a break in Christchurch

I was surprised at today’s mileage. It’s exactly the same as yesterday’s, which is okay; you would expected it to be the same. Except for today, I came to the New Forest via Corfe Castle and Wareham, which is a much longer way around. Yesterday I went via the chain link ferry at Sandbanks. Although I was bimbling around quite a lot and also went via Lymington. So maybe I shouldn’t be surprised.

As I said yesterday, what a small world. At the campsite tonight, I met a young couple who had come down from a small town in north Bucks. Expecting me not to know where it was, they were surprised when I did. Not only did I know the town, but I had lived there for a while!
