Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in the UK on Tuesday, 10th-October-2023. Bognor Regis to Crowborough. 55 miles. The weather is too nice to stay at home, so I’ve come away for a few days. And I’ve come in the opposite direction to the usual way I cycle. I actually left home yesterday and was heading for the Isle of Wight, Swanage and Salisbury. But after cycling to Portsmouth, I decided not to bother and cycled back home. It was a last-minute decision anyway. And I didn’t leave home until gone midday. But what really stopped me going was arriving at the Isle of Wight campsite late. I need a lot of time when setting up camp these days. Still, it was a nice ride to Portsmouth and back.
I was going to attempt going to the Isle of Wight again today, but obviously, I didn’t. I don’t know why, but for some strange reason, I remembered this campsite in Crowborough that I’m at tonight. It’s made a pleasant change to cycle somewhere different. I’ve only got tonight and tomorrow night; I’ve got to be home Thursday. Because surprise surprise I’ve got the hospital on Friday.
Tomorrow
My plan for tomorrow is to head up to either Lee Valley and stay at the campsite I stopped at back in March. Or go a little further and stay in Waltham Abbey there’s another campsite there. Then, the following day, head into London and get the train home. But as we all know, things may change!
