Travelsonabike2 YouTube Video 12th-August-2023

Episode 1 of Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 the Low Countries Bicycle Tour Video, which was posted on his YouTube channel on the 12th-August-2023. The first video from Garry’s recent ride in Europe. Observations and comments from Garry as he sets out on his ride to the Low Countries. Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. But first, he has to get there.

It’s day one, and the day starts with Garry heading for the ferry, but it’s not the usual ferry Garry uses. Usually, he crosses from Portsmouth to France. But this time, he’s decided to cross from Newhaven to France. It makes more sense for the parts of Europe Garry wants to explore. He’s off to the Low Countries: Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg.

It’s an early start to catch the ferry to France. Newhaven’s a bit further than Portsmouth and in the opposite direction. But with a strong tailwind, it’s a fast ride. And Garry reaches Newhaven in plenty of time, despite a couple of detours in Brighton. It’s a short crossing from Newhaven to France, and Garry is soon in Dieppe. And that’s when things get tough. The Low Countries Tour book is available to buy from Amazon. Available on Kindle or in paperback.
