Episode 5 of Garry McGivern’s Travelsonabike2 the Low Countries Bicycle Tour Video, which was posted on his YouTube channel on the 16th-August-2023. The fifth video from Garry’s recent ride in Europe, which he recorded on the 21st of July. And it’s yet another long video. More observations from Garry as he continues to cycle through France towards the Low Countries, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
It starts to rain just as Garry leaves camp. But it’s still a pleasant start to the day as Garry continues where he left off yesterday, cycling along the Canal-des-Ardennes. But as far as Garry is concerned, the weather can do what it wants. Garry is just glad to be riding his bike. It was five years ago to the day that Garry was taken to hospital by ambulance in chronic pain, which later turned out to be severe sepsis shock.
As Garry nears Luxembourg, he begins to realise that it might be a bit hillier than he thought. One of the main reasons for heading to the Low Countries was because he thought it might not be too hilly. And he has a nightmare end to the day with some of the hills and his phone sending him in circles. But at least he ends the day by reaching Belgium.
