Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Tuesday, 13th-June-2017. Bognor Regis to Salisbury. 78 miles. Finally, I’ve managed to get away somewhere else apart from the New Forest or Isle of Wight! Although it’s not exactly a new destination it will make a change.
I’m en route to Bridgwater and St John Street Cycles for a long overdue service and repair to Passepartout.
I was meant to go a few weeks ago. But I had to go into hospital for that angiogram, so I was unable to. But at least I’m on my way now, and it feels really good to be back touring.
It’s been a lovely ride today the weather has been superb and I’ve been following cycle routes all the way, which have taken me through small villages and quiet country lanes.
The only downside to the day was when I reached the campsite and unpacked. In one of my panniers, a can of beer had burst and emptied itself all over my spare clothes and maps! And there was me trying to be clever and bringing enough clothes, so I didn’t have to do any washing! Still, at least they smell nice now!!

I don’t know how you can do that mileage loaded up with panniers. Just imagine doing 100 miles with just a saddle bag.
