Ambulance, A&E & Pain | Garry McGivern: St Richard’s Hospital Update

Update From St Richard’s Hospital: Saturday

Fifty hours ago, I was taken by ambulance to the A&E department of St Richard’s Hospital because of the pain in my hip! I’m still in a lot of pain and will be spending at least one more night here!

The good thing that has come of this. Not! I’ve got a rough date for my operation: October at the very earliest! I wrote the above yesterday. Today, they moved me to a different ward, but only briefly! It’s the Emergency floor! I presume this is an intermediate stop while they decide what ward is best to put me on!

Further Information

A few days after writing this post, I developed severe septic shock and was taken to the ICU ward, where I was placed in an induced coma.
