Travelsonabike2 England Tuesday 27th-August-2019

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Tuesday, 27th-August-2019. Bognor Regis to Portsmouth. 30 miles. Well once again I’m off, and this time just for a change I’m off to France! I’m catching the overnight ferry to St Malo, where I intend to cycle down to Saint-Naziere or Nantes, or somewhere nearby! I’m aiming to pick up the River Loire and follow it through France to Mulhouse, where I’ll pick up the River Rhine, which I’ll then follow to Holland and catch a ferry back to England. Maybe!

Nice easy ride from home to Portsmouth, although it was rather hot. Arrived in Portsmouth in plenty of time, so went for some liquid refreshment before heading off to ferry terminal!

  1. What a lovely prospect. Stick to the canals and rivers. I’ve lost confidence to do that now but I’ll follow you in the spirit. Mulhouse? Christ man that’s in the Juras.
    Best wishes – Malcolm.
