Travelsonabike2 China Tuesday 30th-October-2012

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in China on Tuesday, 30th-October-2012. Gulang to Yongdeng. 74 miles. Well, I was right about it being uphill, 5 hours! I saw loads of snow on the vehicles coming towards me, which was slightly worrying. I was in lovely blue skies without a cloud to be seen!

When I eventually got to the top of the climb, it was like a different world. There must have been some snowfall in the night because it was pretty white. But the roads were fine. As I got lower, the snow gradually faded away. I did see on the telly the other night when I found an English-speaking channel that there’s going to be a cold snap sweeping across China. Not sure when, though!

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.
