Wednesday 15th May. Genets to Saint Lo D’Ourville. 56 miles.

Much easier ride today, well at least it was this morning!

Didn’t sleep too well last night! There seemed to be a lot of frogs around, or at least that’s what I think it was! They just wouldn’t shut up, all night long they just kept croaking!

The coast leading up to Granville

Met another cyclist this morning, who was from Kent, and didn’t I know it! All he kept saying was Kent or something CTC, looks us up!

Thankfully he was coming to the end of his tour, as he told me about a dozen times!

Penny farthing
A penny farthing with shells stuck all over it, this was in the middle of a roundabout

” if I wasn’t at the end of my tour, I would have ridden with you! But I’ve only got another 80 miles to go before I catch my ferry, in a couple of days!” he said.

Not likely, I’d have changed direction, I thought to myself!

“Oh well I best get going then” I replied, as I quickly rode off! Pre empting him saying do you fancy a coffee! Thankfully I never saw him again!

Much flatter coastline this afternoon

I did wonder about getting the ferry across to Jersey from Granville, but decided it probably wasn’t worth it! It’s smaller than the Isle of Wight!

  1. How I envy you. That’s the life – out on the road as free as air.i did the ferry from St Malo to Jersey. I’ll have to look up Granville.
    Best wishes – Malcolm
