Cycling The World Turkey 1st-August-2012

Garry McGivern’s cycling around the world, Wednesday, 1st-August-2012 Cerkes to Tosya. 67 miles. I was feeling a little happier this morning, although I’m still not convinced I want to carry on! A good night’s sleep may have helped. It was a lot cooler than it has been. I even had to pull a sheet over myself.

Another reason for feeling a little happier today may have been because it’s been a relatively easy ride. It felt as though I’d been cycling downhill all day, which was nice.

Hills trees and flag
The scenery has even been a little better

I met some more cyclists today who were from Brazil. They’d started their ride in Vietnam and were now heading for Spain. I got a bit confused about what they were going to do after they reached Spain. But I think they were heading back to Brazil, although they also mentioned something about the Pan American Highway. The Pan American Highway is on my list of cycle rides. Maybe I’ll head off there after I finish this ride!?

Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride. I want to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. After my wife, Josie, died of breast cancer in 2007, aged only 42. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research UK or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. Every little bit helps to rid the world of this cruel disease.
