Garry McGivern’s bike-ride to Australia-and-beyond Wednesday, 27th-June-2012 Somerset to Mcconnellsburg. 75 miles. “In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia on the trail of the lonesome pine!” or rather, Pennsylvania. “Where she carved her name, and I carved mine. Oh, June,” haha, you can’t beat Laurel and Hardy. I crossed the “Blue Ridge Mountains” today.
This morning’s ride was pretty easy, with not too many climbs. It seemed as if I was going downhill for the majority of the morning. And I’d cycled fifty miles by one o’clock. It then took me three hours to cycle the twenty-five miles of today. There were some pretty big climbs. I think I’ve got another sixty miles to go before I’m out of these mountains.
I had some tosser throw his bag of McDonald’s rubbish at me when I was going up one of the hills. It didn’t hit me, but what a complete tosser. Apart from throwing his rubbish at me. What a complete w#%*;r for throwing it out of the car in the first place!
