Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 24th March 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 28th-March-2024. It’s day three of Garry’s trip to the New Forest. Garry spent the previous day hanging around camp, so there was very little filming apart from a few short videos posted on his social media channels. But it’s time to get moving again. One day, sitting around camp is more than enough for Garry.

Garry’s route through the New Forest is the same as usual. Or though, for some reason, Garry thinks it’s different. There are more roadworks and diversions today, but once he’s through them and reaches Southampton. It’s a fast ride home with a nice tailwind.

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 YouTube video, Bicycle Touring England 22nd March 2024, was posted on his YouTube channel today, the 27th-March-2024. Garry’s finally off on his bike for a couple of days of cycling and camping.

It’s the opening day of the season for one of Garry’s regular campsites, Holland’s Wood in the New Forest. And as usual, Garry wants to be there. The weather forecast isn’t great, but that’s not deterring Garry. There seems to be a lot of road work’s, and many of the routes Garry usually takes are closed. But there’s no big diversions.

Travelsonabike2 England 24th-March-2024

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is bicycle touring England on Sunday, 24th-March-2024. Brockenhurst to Bognor Regis. 74 miles. It was good to be cycling again today. As much as I enjoyed my day off yesterday, I still prefer moving, even if it is hard going.

I had a little bimble through the New Forest first thing this morning, thinking I was going a different route than what I usually take. It wasn’t, of course. I’ve cycled through the New Forest so many times that I don’t think there’s a route I’ve not cycled.

That’s it, I’ve had enough. Goodbye.

Once I reached Southampton, I had a nice tailwind all the way home. You might not have heard the last of me; I’m thinking of heading off somewhere tomorrow. I’ll see how I feel in the morning.

Travelsonabike2 England 23rd-March-2024

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is bicycle touring England on Saturday, 23rd-March-2024, in Brockenhurst. I was so undecided about where I should go today that I just stayed put. And maybe it was the right decision. There have been plenty of showers today.

I’ve not really done a lot today. In fact, I’ve not done anything, and to be honest, I’ve quite enjoyed it. I’ve been out for a couple of walks around the campsite. But with all the rain that’s been around, I’ve not gone far.

Even the ponies struggle to find a dry patch

It was a lovely, bright start to the day. And it was nice to wake up to the dawn chorus, something you don’t get to hear when you wake up in a house.

I’m surprised how busy the campsite is. But maybe that’s because they’ve bunched us all up, with half the campsite closed off. I’ve seen quite a few camper vans getting stuck in the mud and having to be towed out. They should’ve come by bike!

Maybe One Day You’ll Make a Decision

Despite having a whole day to think about what or where I’m going to go tomorrow, I still haven’t decided! I think a lot of the problem is going somewhere I’ve not been before, which in the time I’ve got is very hard. Also, the weather for the coming week is looking somewhat unsettled.
