Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Monday, 26th-September-2022. Brockenhurst, to Bognor-Regis. 70 miles. It’s been a long day. I didn’t get home until gone seven o’clock this evening. But then I don’t think I left the campsite until after nine.
Looking at the weather forecast this morning, it said that it was going to rain at eight o’clock. And seeing as I wasn’t in any hurry, I decided to wait. Well, the weather forecasters got it right this morning. At five minutes past eight, the heavens opened, and the rain poured down. I was quite relieved that I had waited it out.

One thing I have realised from last night and this morning is just how bad my MSR tent is. Yesterday I decided to take my Hilleberg away with me, seeing as I’ve not used it for a long time. What a difference. Even without any rain, I always wake up with a lot of condensation in my MSR. And as for when it rains! But this morning, my Hilleberg was as dry as a bone, with no condensation or leaks.
I think I need to persevere and get used to using my Hilleberg. It’s a far superior tent. The trouble is I really like the layout of the MSR
