Bicycle tour map for late March/April 2025 from Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2. Strictly speaking, this isn’t a tour, or not, as Garry classes a bicycle tour. Garry classifies a tour as anything over 500 miles (800 kilometres). The map shows where Garry spent each night of his March-April 2025 bike ride. Behind each pin is a brief description of the day’s ride and the miles cycled for the day.

One of Garry’s favourite campsites, Grange Farm on the Isle of Wight, is finally opening up for the season. Usually, they open at the beginning of March, but because the weather has been so bad over the past few years, they delayed their opening until the beginning of April. And rather than cycling directly to the Isle of Wight Garry’s heading off to visit some of the other campsites that he likes to frequent.

This Google map shows my bicycle tours country by country. Behind each marker are links to the rides/tours I’ve completed in that country. Just click on the country’s bubble to view.

More markers will (hopefully) be added as and when I complete a new tour. And looking at the map, there’s still plenty of the world to explore by bicycle!

Bicycle tour map for February-2025 from Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2. Strictly speaking, this isn’t a tour, or not, as Garry classes a bicycle tour. Garry classes a tour as anything over 500 miles (800 kilometres). The map shows where Garry spent each night of his February-2025 bike ride. Behind each pin is a brief description of the day’s ride and the miles cycled for the day.

Garry’s off to Bridgwater for a long overdue service on his bike, Passepartout. And as usual, Garry uses it as an excuse to go on a bike ride. Garry had intended to go a little further afield once his bike was serviced. But the campsite Garry was heading for was closed due to maintenance, so he returned to one of his regular campsites, which he knew was open.

Thinking he could find more campsites open other than his usual ones, he still planned on cycling further. Unfortunately, he soon learned that February isn’t the best month for camping. With very few sites open. Plus there was the little problem of the weather. It was bitterly cold, and packing the tent away when frozen solid wasn’t easy. It took Garry four hours to get moving.

Bicycle touring map for November-2024 from Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2. Strictly speaking, this isn’t a tour, or not, as Garry classes a bicycle tour. Garry classes a tour as anything over 500 miles (800 kilometres). The map shows where Garry spent each night of his November-2024 bike ride. Behind each pin is a brief description of the day’s ride and the miles cycled for the day.

Unfortunately, Garry’s cousin passed away, and Garry wants to attend his funeral, which is in Wales. So Garry uses it as an excuse to hop on his bike and go on a ride. It takes Garry two days to reach Wales, with him camping in Salisbury on his first night. And a hotel on the second night due to there not being any campsites.

After a couple of nights in Wales to attend the funeral, Garry sets off on the cycle home, although he’s going via north Wales to get home. Or rather, that was his plan.
