Cycle Touring England 2nd-April-2016

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Saturday, 2nd-April-2016. Wareham to Brockenhurst. 46 miles. Had a really good start to the day. Firstly I managed to get a free night camping. Well, nearly it cost me 20 pence for the shower! Secondly, I was able to annoy a friend who was staying in his camper van a few miles down the road by waking him up! It was 9 o’clock, so it wasn’t as if it was that early. But to Mick, I think it is!

Not done a lot of miles today; I’ve just been ambling along. I was going to go home, but obviously, in the end, I didn’t! Met a nice couple at the campsite tonight who have sold everything and are setting off on a cycle ride around the world! I’m just off down to the pub to talk with them some more.

Cycle Touring England 1st-April-2016

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Friday 1st-April-2016. Bognor Regis to Wareham. 80 miles. It’s the weekend again so it’s time to get on the bike and head off somewhere. This week I’ve cycled to Wareham via the Isle of Wight. Only this time, the ferries fell right for me both at Portsmouth and Yarmouth. Each time I turned up I was loaded on straight way. I was actually going to go to Swanage originally. But I changed my mind when I got to Poole. I got fed up with a cold wind that was blowing straight at me!

Hamble le Rice Video

Garry’s Hamble le Rice video which was filmed on his way home from the Isle of Wight on Good Friday. It shows the pretty little village of Hamble which is where the little pink ferry is caught from.

It was rather busy with tourists that day, never mind “ding ding out the way bike coming through!”

It ties in well with another of Garry’s videos from September 2015 of the Hamble to Warsash ferry although that was filmed on the crossing from Warsash to Hamble.

Shoreham-by-Sea to Brighton Cycle Ride

The cycle ride from Shoreham-by-Sea to Brighton which was taken on my ride to Brighton on Valentines day last month and forms part of the Sustrans national cycle route 2 although I didn’t stick to the recommended route as it goes all around the houses, I just went down the main road for part of it!

It’s a popular ride and one that I’ve done many times with Julie as it is mainly off road.
