Bike-Ride to Australia Thursday 26th-April-2012. In Sydney. It’s been a quiet day. First thing this morning, I put the new tyres on my bike but left the light off. My quick fix with zip ties seems to be working okay. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! After sorting my bike out, we went back to Sydney city centre. I needed to pick my laptop up, which was now fixed and working okay. Yay!
We caught the ferry rather than drive or catch the bus into Sydney. It’s only a mile or so’s walk from Jenny’s house. It runs up the Parramatta River and takes you right into the heart of the city. It’s a great way to arrive in the city, and you get some pretty good views of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Along with a completely different aspect of the city. There were some expensive looking houses along the riverbank.
After picking up my laptop, we spent much of the day walking around and looking. I liked the old part of Sydney the best, with its historic buildings. We returned to Jenny’s by ferry. And in the evening, we went back to the RSL club for supper. It’s such good value, especially as I don’t get charged an entrance fee!
It’s All For Charity
Don’t forget the main reason behind my ride, which is to raise as much money for cancer research charities as possible. Even the smallest donation helps. You can donate to Cancer Research or the Australian National Breast Cancer Foundation. Click on either one to donate. So far, I’ve cycled 11,000 miles. And I’ve only got about another six hundred miles to cycle. So please donate.
