June-2021 bicycle-ride video episode-1. Bognor Regis to Brockenhurst. Well, it’s been a long time, 18 months to be precise, but Garry’s finally back out and about touring. Well, it’s not so much of a tour as a ride because of government restrictions! The restrictions still in place make travelling pretty complicated, especially if you want to go abroad! And as far as Garry is concerned, one of the most annoying restrictions, apart from the foreign travel restrictions! Is the fact that you have to pre-book anywhere in advance! Something that Garry isn’t particularly good at! So this whole ride is a bit of an experiment! To see if everything does need to be pre-booked or not!
Garry’s not been on the road since November 2019, when he returned home from his Eurovelo tour. So it feels great to be back out cycling and knowing that he doesn’t have to return home the same day! He’s only got a few days, but after the break Garry’s had, anything will do!
Today’s ride is familiar, as Garry’s cycled it hundreds of times, yet it somehow feels different! Who knows why? Garry’s just glad to be going somewhere, fully loaded for a night of camping under the stars! His first port of call on this mini-tour is one of his regular and favourite campsites, Holland’s Wood in the New Forest.

That was a lovely ride. They ought to prescribe it on the NHS. 64 miles! You don’t even stop for tea.

I’ve been saying for years the government should pay me for cycling, it would be a lot cheaper in the long run!!
