On This Day 3rd-June-2012

This week’s on this day post comes from the 3rd-June-2012. And I’m cycling across America as part of my world tour. It’s also one of the few nights I camped in America. Most nights, I checked into a motel. Come to think of it. I rarely camped at all. Hotel camping was much easier. I was also missing a front tooth and resembled one of the local hillbillies!

Sunday 3rd-June-2012 Vernal to Maybell. 91 miles.

Breakfast this morning was in the restaurant next door. And it was buffet style, and it’s the best breakfast I’ve had since I’ve been in the states! There were pancakes, muffins, eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit. You get the picture. I made sure I got my money’s worth. And had several courses!

I crossed the border into Colorado today. The hills seem to be more rolling than in Utah, but still just as big! It’s been rather hot today, and the wind late this afternoon was like being under a hairdryer. I put my washing out this evening, and within half an hour, it was bone dry!

I’m camping tonight. The one motel in town didn’t have anything to offer me, e.g. the internet or a bar. There’s also nowhere to eat in town, so it was easier to camp and cook myself. I always worry about cooking in motel rooms. Any way I can save the money towards getting my tooth fixed by camping!

There’s a full moon tonight, by the looks of it. I hope there are no werewolves about. Mind you. If I smile at them, I’ll scare them anyway. I look more scary than normal with this missing tooth! I used to be a werewolf but okay, nowwwwww!
