Travelsonabike2 England This Day 22nd-March-2018

This week’s Travelsonabike2 bicycle touring on this day post comes from England on the 22nd-March-2018, and I’m in a lot of pain. I’d been waiting for a hip replacement surgery for a couple of years. I was now in a lot of pain, so much pain that I struggled to cycle 15 miles on this day. And we all know what this pain led to a few months later!

Thursday, 22nd March 2018. Brighstone to Brockenhurst. 15 miles.

I didn’t sleep very well last night. I thought it was going to be a cold night and overcompensated, and I woke up somewhat hot and sweating. Expecting it to be a chilly night, I’d put my silk liner inside my sleeping bag, which adds about another 5 degrees. I don’t think I’ll be making that mistake tonight.

With only 15 miles to cover today, there was no need to rush off, and it gave the tent a chance to dry off before being packed away.

I’m not too sure what I’m going to do tomorrow. I was thinking of cycling up to Greywell and that campsite I stayed at last year, the one in the pub garden. But seeing as I’ve struggled today and only cycled 15 miles. I’m not so sure I’d be able to make it!

Despite the pain and struggle today, I’ve still enjoyed myself. And I’ll make a decision in the morning as to what I’m going to do.
