Travelsonabike2 England Wednesday 21st-March-2018

Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in England on Wednesday, 21st-March-2018. Bognor Regis to Brighstone. 39 miles. It seems to have been a long winter and I’ve been trying to get away for a couple of weeks now!

Leaving home this morning

My first attempt was a few weeks ago, but the day I was going to go away we had that “beast from the East ” which brought us some snow!

My second attempt last weekend again failed when the “beast from the East” returned with more snow!

This week I’ve been a bit luckier and made it to the Isle of Wight!

It was a good ride albeit a bit hard going especially across the island the wind was pretty strong and blowing against me!

I must admit that I’m finding cycling pretty hard these days, not as hard as walking though!

It’s not my hip that’s the problem although that was painful by the end of the day, it’s my other leg my sciatica is really playing me up! My leg just goes completely numb when I’m riding and is very uncomfortable!

Despite my aches and pains I still enjoyed my day!

  1. Oh the wind, the wind, the terrible wind. Only you could just get on a bike and go without any training miles. There’s a cafe near Yarmouth that specialises in goat products.I offered £50 reward for my electric bike but no replies. Anyway, you’ve got enough troubles so make sure you don’t go near Salisbury. Why don’t you cut your losses and take Julie to Paris.

    1. Think I might need an electric bike soon, the way things are going! I was thinking I might be able to get some cheap accommodation in Salisbury!
I don’t think Julie would ride a bike that far!?!
