Garry McGivern’s Youtube Video, UK cycle touring, April 2023, episode 1, which was posted on his YouTube channel on the 10th-April-2023. It was recorded the week before, on the 3rd of April, as Garry cycled to the New Forest. One of Garry’s favourite campsites (Hollands Wood). It opened a couple of days ago, and as with some of Garry’s other favourite campsites, he likes to be there on their first day. But the weather was atrocious on their opening day, so Garry never attended, but the weather’s now improved, so Garry’s on his way.
On his way to the New Forest, Garry gets recognised by another cyclist and stops for a chat. It’s the usual route down to the New Forest with one slight deviation to avoid the “Pink Ferry”. And the Redbridge Causeway cycle path is still closed. (it was closed last month when Garry came this way). But Garry still reaches the campsite nice and early.
Once set up for the night, Garry heads into Brockenhurst for supplies and bumps into more cyclists that know Garry.
