Bicycle Touring Ireland: Sligo to Londonderry

Life after sepsis and back to bicycle touring, my latest update: cycling in Ireland, Sligo to Londonderry. 85 Miles. Well, I’m back in the UK! That was such a good decision to stop yesterday when I did, the rain was nonstop all afternoon and evening. Late start today, breakfast wasn’t until 7.30, which I always find is good value and worth having! I was still on the road by 8.15.

No rain today, well, nothing to speak about, there was a brief shower, which soon blew over, but that was it. It’s been a very windy day, which luckily has been behind me for the best part of the day.

I was hoping to stop a bit earlier tonight, but where I thought there may have been a campsite, there was nothing! No campsites, no hotels, no B&B’s, nothing! Which meant I had to cycle another 12 miles to Londonderry.

Unfortunately, it’s another hotel tonight, the nearest campsite is 5 miles out of town in the wrong direction!
