Garry McGivern Travelsonabike2 is cycle touring in France on Friday, 4th-October-2019. Janze to Angers. 66 Miles. Bit of a boring ride today. The roads have been long and straight! But at least I’ve made it back to Angers. Where I cut my tour short back at the beginning of September.
There’s been another strong wind today. But thankfully, for much of the day, it’s been on my back.
I decided to stop in Angers tonight. I’ll start cycling along the Loire Valley again tomorrow. I’ve had enough cycling today, especially as it’s not been the most inspiring ride.

And, of course, you can always follow me on social media: Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube and Pinterest. I’m also on Flickr, where photographs from this tour will be published once I’m back home.
You can also follow my progress and see where I stop each night by visiting the Where’s Garry web page; there, you’ll find a map of the route I’ve taken so far.
Beautiful buildings! I’d like to stay in a chateau. This is it – flat country is not necessarily best for cycling. It beats me how you can do over sixty day after day. Don’t forget to get back for November. You won’t know yourself with a stainless steel hip. Have you thought of getting toe clips? They can help on hills. (but not with flip flops)
They certainly do have some lovely buildings and fine chateaux.
Unfortunately it’s a bit too cold for the flipflops at the moment!
I have been using toe clips for at least 18 years. I love them. Recommend you!
I’ve always used toe clips even with my flipflops on!
Hope your keeping well András.
