Garry McGivern’s Youtube Video, cycle touring; March 2023, episode 5, which was posted on his YouTube channel on the 24th-March-2023. It was recorded earlier this month, on the 16th of March. After a damp night in Salisbury, Garry’s back on the road and heading to Devizes, but first, he’s going on a detour to Bath.
Out of Salisbury, Garry picks up the National Cycle Network and route 24, which takes Garry through some of the pretty villages of Wiltshire. Garry sticks with route 24 as far as Warminster, leaving the cycle network and following the roads to Bradford-on-Avon. At Bradford-on-Avon, Garry is back on the National Cycle Network, this time following route four along the Kennet and Avon canal. The Kennet and Avon canal might be traffic-free, but because of last night’s rain, it’s rather muddy and hard going.
Garry reaches Bath and can’t decide whether he should continue on or stick to his original route and spend the night in Devizes. Either way, it’s a wet end to the day.
You can watch the video below or on Garry’s YouTube channel. Either way, it won’t make it any more enjoyable!
